Counter Terrorism - Leigh-on-Sea Incident Update

Alert message sent 16/10/2021 23:18:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

Dear members,

Following the terrorist incident yesterday in which MP Sir David Amess tragically died, Counter Terrorism Policing HQ have issued an incident update.

I summarise the key points below;

We know this terrible news will be felt strongly in communities across the country, and we recognise it will cause considerable concern. Police forces will continue to work with communities and partners to provide updates and reassurance.

Police forces across the country are this weekend offering additional advice and support to all MP's on this matter.

We encourage everyone to remain alert, and report anything that doesn’t seem right immediately to police, security or staff.

You can also report anything suspicious in confidence via www.gov.uk/ACT
or 0800 789 321
In an emergency always call 999.

More information on what to look out for and how to contact police can be found at our Action Counters Terrorism website www.gov.uk/ACT

Take care, stay safe
